In March 2015, the Health Care Payment Learning and Action Network kicked off at the White House. President Obama described that making health care affordable and rewarding the value rather than the volume of care are central goals of the Administration’s health policy efforts.  Chief executive officers and senior leaders from the health care community, as well as providers, payers, employers, patients, consumer groups, health experts, and state and federal government agencies came together. Through the expansion of new health care payment models, these stakeholders will collaborate to transform our nation’s health care delivery system to one that achieves better care, smarter spending, and healthier people. You can review the synopsis of the initial kickoff meeting on the CMS Innovation Center website.
