The Health Equity Advisory Team (HEAT) of the Health Care Payment Learning & Action Network (HCPLAN) has released a new guidance document: “Value of Health Care Redefined: Social Return on Investment.”
Download the guidance document today to learn how health care entities can leverage Social ROI to support health equity in APMs and accountable care arrangements.
Background: The Health Equity Advisory Team (HEAT) continues to push the needle towards transformation with a new document that will highlight how using social return on investment (social ROI) to measure the value of health equity initiatives can strengthen the business case for investing in and sustaining programs that enhance health and well-being.
Currently, the health care system places disproportionate value on financial metrics and traditional clinical process and outcome measures; by excluding social benefits that are inherently intertwined with or dependent upon health outcomes, the full impact of health equity programs may be underrepresented.
For the health care sector, social ROI offers an opportunity to capture the value of health equity initiatives that clinical and financial metrics alone cannot.
