Session materials

Session Goals

  • Understand what data a health plan should share with providers to help providers succeed in a maternity care APM; what data are already being shared or reported
  • Understand the range of technology and systems health plans and providers are using to successfully share data.
  • Learn what other organizations have used as report cards, which range from simple Excel spreadsheets to sophisticated web portals
  • Determine what educational support may be needed to teach providers how to interpret reports, understand the data, and make adjustments for quality improvement
  • Ask questions of each other and interact with expert discussants who have systems in place that share data
  • Identify leading and promising practices for further action
  • Discuss action steps specific to this topic
  • Solicit participant feedback and any specific requests for future meetings

Expert Discussants

  • Dr. Jack Feltz, President of Lifeline Medical Associates in New Jersey

To achieve the goal of better care, smarter spending, and healthier people, the U.S. health care system must substantially reform its payment structure to incentivize quality, health outcomes, and value over volume. The Health Care Payment Learning and Action Network (LAN) was established as a collaborative network of public and private stakeholders, including health plans, providers, patients, employers, consumers, states, federal agencies, and other partners within the health care community.
